Paediatric Aquatic Therapy can help children with autism to improve their concentration and attention span. The therapy focuses on play-based functional movement, facilitating euro developmental growth, and improving range of motion. This therapy is fun for the children as it also helps improve body awareness.
Hippotherapy has been shown to improve balance, strength, and motor coordination.
It has also been proven to be effective in promoting language, sensory regulation as well as improving social skills as students often form an emotional bond with the horses they ride on.
Outings are important to give autistic children the chance to practice socialization, physical awareness, and promote generalization of skills in the ‘real world’. It will also help improve their self-confidence and self-awareness. Besides, outings will help increase autism awareness and acceptance in our communities.
