Board Members

IDEAS Autism Centre is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of proactive individuals with backgrounds in business, education, charity governance, research and support to underprivileged children. Current Board members are:

Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz

Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin is a Founding President and Chairman of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs; a Trustee of Yayasan Chow Kit, Yayasan Munarah, the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and the Genovasi Foundation; an Independent Non-Executive Director of Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Kian Joo Can Factory Berhad; an advisor or patron to numerous educational and musical organisations; a committee member of several societies; a columnist in three newspapers and a Royal Fellow of the National University of Malaysia.

Tengku Sarah Rahayu

Tengku Sarah Rahayu is the Director of An-Nur Child Development Centre Sdn Bhd and a Trustee of Yayasan Yara, a charity organisation dedicated to providing welfare support and improving lives of the less fortunate in the community. She is devoted to the nurturing of holistic and wholesome childhood development and education in her work through various platforms. 

Dato’ Anthony Geoffrey Cooper

Anthony Cooper illustrious background includes a career in Iran, Singapore, Malaysia and the UK where he was a Senior Partner in Price Waterhouse Coopers. He has held many voluntary leadership responsibilities in organisations such as Selangor Cheshire Home, Alice Smith Schools Association, The Royal Society for Asian Affairs, Samaritans of Singapore, The British Malaysian Society and Cranbrook School in UK. He is also the Governor of Tinggi Foundation.

Mazrina Ariffin

Mazrina Arifin is the General Manager of IDEAS Autism Centre and the Director of Finance of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs. She holds a board position at MC Life Sciences Berhad and served as a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Hup Seng Industries Berhad from 2000 to 2022. She qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant from Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in England and BSc of Science in Accounting from University of Hull in United Kingdom. Her diverse experiences in taxation, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit management make her a valuable member of the Board of Directors. 

Datin Andrea Michelle Maiolla

Andrea Maiolla is a Governor of Tinggi Foundation who provides scholarships to UNMC students. She also runs her own private charity and has supported numerous educational and research causes in Malaysia. Andrea has a background in education and has worked for international schools in Australia, Italy, and Thailand.
